This print was created to be the cover image of the "labels" issue of SNAPline.
I'm enjoying claiming a variety of easy and complicated labels (artist, extrovert, poet, bisexual) in personal interactions that are fleeting but meaningful like a finger doodle on a foggy window.
The expanded frame artwork with this print at its centre is called Labelled: Aquarius, and it addresses the discomfort I have whenever anyone describes me as logical, cold, or calculated (with words that clash with my self-perception). It often reminds me of the first time I looked up the qualities of my astrological sun sign. Across my work, water often represents emotion. An aquarium in this context seems to evoke strong feelings contained behind cool composure.

Labels:
-standard size paper is easy to frame simply, no mat required. Be sure to place a white card behind the paper in its frame because the paper is translucent.
-if you want to go fancier, match your mat to the paper and place in a non-black frame. Natural wood, navy, or white are good choices.
