Directive: make art about incredibly specific and personal moments that will invariably resonate with a bunch of people because the human experience is never unique.
Choosing to move on from a breakup (for example) is something we all do multiple times in our lives, sometimes multiple times in the fallout of a single relationship. I'm always saying about my works in progress "it's all coming together" and I think moving on is also like that, a thing you have to choose and choose and choose. By using the imagery of moving house, I'm illustrating that the emotional experience can be like the physical experience: draining, overwhelming, and requiring real effort to pick the unknown over the known.

The Selves: What are they up to?
The Selves: What are they up to?
Head of Feelings:
She's bruised, wearing a knee brace, looking around the new space full of hope, imagining hanging art and installing bookshelves. She hugs her box to her chest. Big Hope.
Brave Front:
She's bridging the other selves' experiences. Making sure they both feel seen and supported. She's carrying the other side of the couch from the Spymaster, but supporting less weight (less guilt/responsibility). Her mouth is open as if she's making a joke or offering encouragement.
Spymaster:
She's slightly jaded about the history and determined to make the "right" choices in the future. She's the most reserved about the new space. She bears the majority of the weight of the couch in a misguided attempt to take responsibility even for things beyond her control. Kind of scared.

Unmounted Print:
- the paper is exactly 16x20" (40x50cm) a standard framing size in North America. You can frame it at this size with or without a mat (if matting, be sure not to cover the editioning ♥). Avoid black frames if possible, a natural wood would be ideal.
Mounted Print:
- the panel is ready to hang as-if you wish to add presence with a frame, I recommend a float-frame so that the edges of the image aren't covered. Avoid black frames if possible, a natural wood would be ideal.
